  • For collection, AB bankas SNORAS honours foreign bank and client cheques issued in US dollars, euros, pound sterlings and Canadian dollars.
  • The amount of the cheque submitted for collection shall not exceed the value of LTL 10 000 in the equivalent currency.
  • The cash as per the cheque can be received only by a person indicated on the cheque, i.e. cheques assigned (endorsed) to another beneficiary are not accepted for collection.
  • Funds for a cheque presented for collection are credited to the client's account, therefore, in order to collect the cheque, the client must be the holder of an account with AB bankas SNORAS.
  • The service of collection of cheques, as per the fees set by the bank, is charged 0.9 % of the amount of the cheque (minimum LTL 10, maximum LTL 250) plus fees applied by the foreign banks, if any.
  • In case of returning of unused cheque, the client is required to pay the fees applied by the foreign banks, if any. Unused cheques might be returned due to a number of reasons:
    • settlement by cheque is suspended due to the insufficient balance of the cheque drawer's account;
    • the cheque drawer had closed its bank account, etc.

    Thus, cheques provide no guarantees as to their payment.

  • The bank is not obliged to accept cheques for collection, i.e. when accepting cheques presented for collection, the bank may decide to refuse their collection or to require the clients to provide additional guarantees.
  • The payment of the cheque may take, on average, three to four weeks from its acceptance by the bank (depending on the country and the bank where the cheque is paid). This is due to the fact that the cheques presented for collection are sent by regular post to correspondent banks that pay up (or fail to pay up) the cheques.
